Organizational Purpose

The Institute of Development and Economic Alternatives (IDEAS) is an independent non-profit public policy research organization established to conduct rigorous, evidence-based research on issues critical to Pakistan’s economic, social, institutional, and political development.

The institute works to inform policy discourse, support research-based decision-making, strengthen local research capacity, and engage with academic, governmental, and civil society stakeholders to promote inclusive and sustainable development in Pakistan.

Funding Sources

IDEAS receives funding through research grants, academic collaborations, institutional partnerships, and project-based support from universities, research institutions, development partners, and other national and international organizations aligned with the Institute’s mission and areas of work.

Registrations

IDEAS is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) as a non-profit public company under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017. Relevant registration and incorporation documents are provided below for reference. Registration Certificate
