Dr Laraib Niaz is a post-doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge where she specialises in inclusive education. She is currently working on an Independent Evaluation of Girls’ Education Challenge (GEC) with respect to effectiveness for girls with disabilities. She is also working on evaluating an inclusive education intervention in Bangladesh, funded by UKaid, and on a TASO funded evaluation of disability inclusive initiatives of higher education institutions in the UK. She is also an education consultant at the World Bank where she focuses on gender and disability inclusive education in Pakistan.
She completed her PhD from the Institute of Education, University College London where her research focused on the intersection of religion and education in schools in Pakistan. Prior to receiving her PhD, Dr Niaz completed a master’s in development studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research interests lie around inclusion and exclusion in education, with a particular focus on gender, disability, and religion.
