Benjamin Alcott is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Education, University College London. Ben’s research uses economic principles and methods to examine the equity effects of education policies, with a particular interest in countries in South Asia and East Africa. His methodological expertise lies in econometrics, mixed methods, and longitudinal research designs. Ben teaches programs at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, focusing on education policies, international development, and the economics of education. From 2022–2023, Ben served on UNESCO’s Global Education Monitoring Report, where he led the report’s monitoring section.
