Sahar joined IDEAS as a Research Assistant in 2016 while pursuing an M.Sc. in Economics. She is currently working as a Project Manager in the Human Development cluster. Throughout her time at IDEAS, Sahar has engaged with projects studying the link between teacher effectiveness, learning, and disadvantages faced by children including poverty and disability  – Teaching Effectively All Children (TEACh)  and Systems Approach for Better Education Results (SABER Pakistan/World Bank). She has also been involved in designing a multi-sectoral Early Childhood Development program aimed at improving health, cognitive and socioemotional development through better nutrition practices, early childhood stimulation, and parental involvement for children in their early years.

Over the past year, Sahar has worked as a Short-term Consultant on projects for UN Women and The Asia Foundation, studying the impact of COVID-19 on women in Pakistan, particularly those engaged in the informal labour force.
