
Aivania Fatima serves as a Research Assistant with Dr. Rabea Malik and Dr. Tayyaba Tamim, Research Fellows at IDEAS, on the Investments in Education and Social Norms project in the Human Development Cluster. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Kinnaird College in 2024. Her research focused on the impacts of climate change in South Asia.
Previously, Aivania worked as a Programme Coordinator on projects related to menstrual health and food insecurity in Pakistan and collaborated with USEFP, UNICEF, and JICA where she gained extensive experience in advocacy and strategic response to climate-related emergencies. She was also engaged as a Research Assistant on a project of USIP and Punjab Police to train female recruits.
Aivania has a profound interest in addressing systemic inequalities, mitigating the impact of disasters on vulnerable populations, and protection for marginalised groups. She plans to pursue her graduate studies in Global Development and become a part of evidence-based policy planning.
